Easy Freestyle, Glide

This is a video of an Olympic Swimmer doing an easy 100 freestyle. Don't be discouraged by how fast he's going or how easy it looks! Rather, this feat takes a lot of body control. Begin by focusing on how he emphasizes 3 simple things:
1. A rhythmic rotation (timed with armstroke and kick)
2. Long, clean pull of the water (not deep, strong catch, and acceleration)
3. His kick within his body's zone of streamline (a counter rotation kick)

This level of mastery takes a few years to learn the "feel" of the water.

Backstroke Technique. The movement of the arms in backstroke is somewhat unique. However, the most important movement of the stroke is the shoulders and hip rotation.
